This role focuses on providing community-based support and companionship, including activities such as going for walks, dining out, and building connections in the community. There is potential for hours to expand up to 15 hours per week for the right fit. The DSP will need to provide transportation to and from activities, so a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required. The ideal candidate is dependable, patient, and enjoys supporting others in staying active and engaged. No smoking or pets in the home.

Roughly 40 year old male in Oregon City looking for help for at least 5 hours, one day a week on Fridays. The schedule is flexible as long as it is not too early. He is very laid back and a social person. He is looking for a DSP that can help with accessing the community to be active, socialize, meet new people and explore the community. He does have an unsteady gait and though he almost never falls, he does need someone to walk nearby him to avoid falls. He also experiences hand tremors so for this reason, client does rely on supports to refill his water bottle for him and to physically feed him. Depending on scheduled times working together this may not be needed. DSP will need to be able to drive client.
