Also in the future help with going on walks. Client is also struggling with early onset Alzheimer’s and dementia so any experience with memory care would be helpful but not required. Although he is very knowledgeable about his job duties, he does need support with ADLs/iADLs while at work—particularly with traffic safety, communication (he is nonverbal), and reducing risk of exploitation. The DSP’s role is to support him, not perform his job tasks. You would meet him at his workplace and stay with him for the duration of his shift. While you are not driving the client, reliable transportation and strong communication skills are required. Reliability is especially important, as he has previously lost jobs due to DSPs arriving late or not showing up.
